Lúcar, a charming village located in Almería, is a destination full of history, culture and natural beauty. This picturesque place is characterized by its narrow cobblestone streets and whitewashed houses that reflect the authentic Andalusian essence. Among its main attractions are the church of Santa María, an architectural jewel from the 16th century, and its three viewpoints, La Santa viewpoint, Lucar viewpoint and Pastor viewpoint, which offer breathtaking panoramic views of the region, allowing visitors to enjoy the serenity and splendor of the landscape.
Lúcar is also the gateway to the Sierra de las Estancias, a paradise for nature lovers and hikers. Its routes offer the opportunity to explore the native flora and fauna, as well as to discover natural springs and Piedra Lobera, the only natural monument in the Almanzora Valley located at an altitude at 1722m.
The traditions and festivities of Lucar are another of its great attractions. The festivity of Santa Maria is one of the most outstanding celebrations, where locals and visitors come together to celebrate with music, dance and typical gastronomy.
And you cannot leave Lúcar without visiting the Balsa de Cela, a spring of thermal waters that emerge naturally with a constant flow and a temperature that is maintained at different times of the year between 22 and 24 degrees Celsius. Already in Roman times there was reference to the richness of these thermal waters of the then Tagilitana Republic (nowadays Tíjola).
