Suflí is a small village of just over 200 inhabitants. The most important monuments in Suflí are the Parish Church built on the remains of another old church of which some elements were used, the Ermita de la Cruz, a tiny construction, and the Ermita de San Roque, built around 1753.

Suflí’s current economic activity is centred on the agro-food industries, small but very prestigious throughout the province of Almería and neighbouring provinces. The oldest people of the place tell that all their lives they have been making fritada preserves in the houses. The “fritá” can be eaten just as it comes in the tin, adding oil, so we have the “ensalá asá”. Or you can make the classic Almerian recipe, which consists of frying peppers and tomatoes with lean meat, offal, rabbit or kid.

The natural surroundings of the village are of unparalleled beauty. Trails such as those of the Yeseras, the Pilgrim’s Route or the Peñascos will make you live and feel the nature of the Filabres.

If you visit this town and want to know what to see and do in it, we have selected on this page a series of suggestions to make your stay easier and more interesting.

We hope you enjoy it.

Suflí is a town in the Valle del Almanzora region. Its origin dates back to Muslim times, when it was called Sufli or Sufliya. The Boloyunta river, also known as the Sierro river, runs through its term. This municipality in Almería has a rich history and cultural heritage that is reflected in its religious buildings.
