Enjoy a unique day in Taberno: Hire the experience “Feel like a farmer for a day”, come to the farm, feed the animals, dare to milk a goat as it has been done all your life and if you feel like it you can learn how to make a handmade cheese. This activity is highly recommended for children.
Book a guided tour of the village and you will learn stories about the main square, the church of San José, the hermitage of Calvario and finally, visit the Museo del Campo, an ethnographic museum that interprets the environment and the Almazara-Museo.

For hiking enthusiasts, there are several trails that go from semi-desert terrain to lush ravines and vice versa.
You can’t leave Taberno without tasting the home-made black pudding from “El Pavero” butcher’s, the homemade crackling cake from “Javi y Raúl” bakery or the famous and delicious goat’s cheese from “La Pastora”.

Restaurant El Rancho – Santopetar (Taberno) Between Albox and Huércal Overa, you will find a – Mesón-bar that offers wonderful, traditional Spanish dishes. Prepared on coals of olive and almond trees, the food is prepared and served in the bar-dining room. The visitors and the inhabitants do not come for restaurants, they come and, they receive, fantastic food directly from the fire, heart grill. The menus offer an excellent seasonal selection, local meats. Basic accompaniments of salad and chips will satisfy your appetite. Make sure you order the homemade alioli – it is the best one so far.
An ideal place to come and eat some delicious tapas and have a drink in good company with excellent service. Great variety of tapas.
