Trail PR-A 328 Las Arrodeas-El Pinatar (Olula del Rio)

It is a circular route of just over 13 kilometers, of which the first ones are somewhat hard due to the unevenness of the terrain, and then it goes through a pleasant forest track. The large, green pine forests that can be seen on its way give a very different perspective of Olula del Río. From its highest point, more than 1,000 meters high (the treasure viewpoint) you can appreciate the sea and make a stop along the way at the picnic tables installed for this purpose.

The path begins next to the water tank of the Olula del Río Town Hall. We turn left and arrive at the Rambla del Cerro del Almirez, we walk for about 50 m. to deviate towards the path that is on the left. We continue along the path for about 300 m. and we turn left, between pine trees, and we directly access the Arrodeas path, the path used by the locals to go from Olula del Río to Campillo de Purchena.

We must walk along this Arrodeas path, ascending continuously for about 2 km. It is a path with zig-zag sections until we reach an esplanade where the Olula del Río City Council dug a well to find drinking water for the citizens. We turn left and about 500 m. further on we come to a crossroads and we must turn right.

We continue for about 2 km. until we reach the crossroads that would take us to Campillo Purchena but we turn right. We continue walking for about 3.3 km. and we reached the highest point of the trail at about 1,071 m. where the “Mirador del Pinatar” is located, towards the Valle del Almanzora. From this point there are impressive views of the region, on clear days you can see the coast of Garrucha and Vera. We begin the descent for 3.3 km, leaving the access to the “Pinatar picnic area” on the left. At this time the asphalt begins.

We continue along our path for about 1600 m. more until arriving at the Hermitage of the Christ of the Good Death. His Christ processions through the streets of Olula del Río on Holy Thursday.
