The trail takes place in the centre of the exploitation area of the famous Macael marble quarries and in Macael Viejo, which is located on a plateau surrounded by vertical walls that had a defensive function.

The trail recovers the old access road to Macael Viejo, through a watercourse that is crossed by means of a “carihuela” built with stone balates that accesses a vira through which the rocky projection that surrounded the entire plateau is saved by the place that had the lowest height. It is also possible to visit the archaeological site and a historic quarry located at the highest point.
