ALJAMBRA TOWER

Situated in the charming hamlet of Aljambra, Albox, the Aljambra Tower is a silent witness to the rich history of the region. Built in the 13th century, this quadrangular watchtower was part of the defensive system of the Nasrid kingdom of Granada, protecting the Almanzora Valley.

Although it is now in a semi-derelict state, the Aljambra Tower, similar in name and meaning to the famous Alhambra in Granada, is a historical jewel that offers a unique experience for lovers of history and archaeology. From its privileged position on a hill, the tower visually dominates several ramblas, offering panoramic views that span from the valley of the Almanzora River to the Sierra de las Estancias and even the highest houses of the village of Albox.

Come and discover this fascinating monument, witness to the frontier between the Muslim and Christian kingdoms, and immerse yourself in the medieval history of Albox.
