Stars, Planets and the Rutting Season in the Sierra de los Filabres

Enjoy a magical evening under Almería’s finest sky, surrounded by nature and accompanied by the impressive sound of the bellowing.

We’re in for a spectacular moment as Saturn and Neptune make their closest approach to Earth. The former, as you know, is famous for its rings (the Lord of the Rings), whilst the latter, which is rarely visible, presents us with the only window of opportunity this year to observe it. Venus is waning, in its waning phase, and difficult to spot, but we’ll give it a go.

🔭 As well as the planets, we’ll observe nebulae, star clusters and galaxies whose light has been travelling through the Universe for millions of years. You’ll learn to recognise constellations and find some fascinating objects for yourself.

And all this during what is surely the last chance of the season to hear the stag’s bellow.
