Tíjola is already gearing up for one of the most eagerly awaited events on the festive calendar. The 2026 Tíjola Carnival will be held from 13 to 18 February, offering several days of activities designed for all audiences and consolidating its position, once again, as one of the province’s leading carnivals.
The programme will kick off on Friday 13 February with the traditional Bruja Piturra, one of the most emblematic and deeply-rooted events of these festivities.
Saturday 14th February will be the Big Day of Carnival, with the eagerly awaited costume parade that will fill the streets with colour, creativity and fun. In the evening, there will be a grand costume ball, enlivened by the Classic Show Orchestra, DJ and hora loca, in an evening designed to be enjoyed until the early hours. This day will also feature a significant amount of prize money.
On Sunday 15 February, it will be the turn of the chirigotas competition, an essential event for lovers of humour, music and carnival satire.
The festivities will conclude on Wednesday 18 February with the traditional burial of the sardine, putting the finishing touch to the 2026 Tíjola Carnival.
The event will offer a total of €8,000 in prizes, reinforcing the Tíjola Town Council’s commitment to promoting participation, creativity and cultural and social revitalisation in the municipality, with the collaboration of PROMOBYS.
