Arboleas is a municipality which has been trying, for some years now, to convert its heritage, whether natural, archaeological, artistic, architectural or ethnological, into a resource for tourism.
On the one hand, heritage resources, and on the other hand, infrastructures, whether public or private, have been arranged in routes, which cover the following areas:
- Urban route: in which a visit is made to the Church, Casa Curatos, Torre Vigía and the Pedro Gilabert Museum, ending with a stroll through the oldest streets in the Plaza de la Constitución.
- Countryside Route: taking as a guide the Aceituno stream and the natural environment of the Sierra de la Murta and showing the most traditional aspects of economic activity, agriculture, popular architecture?
- Historical route: route that identifies with one of the great routes of Al-Andalus, the Route of Al-Khatib, which runs along the future Vía Verde del Almanzora.
- Active tourism route or Limaria-Los Higuerales route: which corresponds to the area of the municipality that reaches the highest altitudes, sparsely populated and therefore suitable for certain outdoor activities.

Craftsmen’s Route
The craftsmanship of the area is basically centred on marble, above all in localities such as Fines, Olula del Río and Macael, but there are also important exponents of ceramics, such as the pottery workshop of Los Puntas, in Albox, and the wood cultivated for years by Pedro Gilabert, whose work has merited a whole museum in Arboleas. The route starts in Arboleas, a municipality which can be reached from the Autovía del Mediterráneo, at the exit towards Purchena, taking the Huércal Overa Baza road.
