Ham from the Adolfo Suárez Square (El Hijate)

In the hamlet of El Hijate, belonging to the Almería municipality of Alcóntar, the Plaza Adolfo Suárez was inaugurated on June 14, 2014, an open-air public space located next to the Auditorium, also dedicated to the former president of the Government, which aims to become a meeting point of the neighbors and that has 1500 m² of surface. The square is dominated by a white marble monument of the Sierra de Los Filabres, made by the Association of Artisans of Marble, which shows on each of its three faces representative elements of the town: the Church of San Antonio, La Torre Vigía (known also as tower of the Moors) and a ham, economic engine of the municipality thanks to the numerous dryers that are located in it.
